When our three daughters (Teal, Tori, and Tress) were between the ages of 8-18, I went searching for resources that are specifically designed for mothers and daughters (and even grandmothers, aunts and so on) to experience together. Finding very limited options specifically designed for intergenerational study, I began to develop a series of lessons based on Proverbs 31.

First, it was applied in our home with each daughter inviting a friend (alongside her mom/grandmother) to join us. Within a few years our large church embraced the resources. For the next decade we had over 250 moms and daughters involved in small-group Bible studies each school year using this material. And now God has expanded His reach to YOUR homes and YOUR hearts through this newly released Bible study series called Portraits of Womanhood!

Heart of Womanhood resources are designed for “state of the Heart” intergenerational APPEAL!

In a culture that divides by ages, it was my heartbeat to provide a fresh “state of the art” approach to unify generations of women through a common love of God and one another. We need each other. The hearts of women will be far stronger when woven with others. Yes, Ecclesiastes 4:12 applies to the hearts of women. “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.”

This is a ministry to encourage biblical WOMANhood for each female. This is also a ministry to encourage biblical WOMENhood for all females regardless of age, race, or place…bonded together by God’s truth. What a unified picture to envision one-on-one discipleship or group relationship so that God’s “older women” can actively “teach the younger women” (Titus 2) and the younger women will “not let anyone look down on them because they are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12) We need each other for God’s masterpiece to be complete!
